Johannesburg, South Africa – City Power teams are working across multiple sites to restore power to Denver in Johannesburg and surrounding areas after a major outage caused by stolen and damaged cables.
The disruptions stem from issues with the Denver East and West distributors, as well as the Denver Standby distributor. Repair crews are currently onsite addressing the damage, and the estimated time of restoration (ETR) has been set for 18:00 this evening, pending successful test results.
City Power has apologized for the inconvenience caused by the extended outage and expressed appreciation for residents’ patience as they work to resolve the issue.
Residents are urged to remain cautious during the outage and report any suspicious activity to help curb cable theft, which continues to be a major challenge for the utility.
